Kathleen is a lawyer at McCabes in both the Insurance and Government divisions. Kathleen works in the casualty group of McCabes' Insurance division, working across insurance fraud matters, public and product liability claims, including property damage, personal injury and VWA recovery and common law claims, working with both national and international insurer clients. Kathleen also works in McCabes' Government division providing advice in historical institutional abuse matters.

Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Economics) from Australian Catholic University, and a Bachelor of Laws (Graduate) (Honours) from La Trobe University, and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2023.

Slipping-up on the facts (again) – Macari v Snack Brands Foods Pty Ltd [2024] NSWCA 282

A recent decision by the NSW Court of Appeal upheld the principle that the plaintiff bears the onus of establishing the cause of his accident. In circumstances where the plaintiff is unable to establish this cause on the basis of the evidence available, the defendant cannot be presumed liable for the incident simply by the mere fact that it occurred.
