Mathew Kaley

Mathew leads the financial services advisory at McCabes. His expertise covers a broad range of regulatory and commercial law applicable to financial services entities, which he is uniquely able to apply practically based on the experience he gained in his former role as General Counsel at Allianz Australia.

In particular, Mathew has a deep understanding of the many regulatory developments currently impacting on the insurance and financial services industries and has had extensive experience in what it takes to implement regulatory change in practice.

Mathew has extensive experience in dealing with regulators, particularly ASIC but also APRA and the ACCC. This stands him in good stead to advise on regulatory compliance issues, inquiries and disputes, along with questions of rectification and remediation.

Throughout his career, Mathew has also carried out a broad range of corporate advisory work for financial services entities, including mergers and acquisitions, restructures, licensing, distribution arrangements, product development and marketing.

With all his work at McCabes, Mathew will bring a practical approach to his legal advice, based on his preparedness to listen and his ability to truly understand his clients' business imperatives and strategic goals.
