Anoj is a senior associate in the Government and Insurance teams at McCabes.
Anoj focuses on historical abuse claims and public liability related claims.
He graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney in 2019 with a combined Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business majoring in Economics degree. Anoj was admitted to practice in 2021.
Prior to working at McCabes, Anoj gained experience in a wide range of personal injury claims, including CTP, Workers Compensation, Work Injury Damages, Total and Permanent Disability and Public Liability claims. Through this, he has gained experience in both litigated and unlitigated personal injury matters.
Anoj is passionate about ensuring his clients received clear and accurate communication throughout the entire process of a claim, to enable them to possess a thorough understanding of the relevant issues in the matter.
A recent decision by the NSW Court of Appeal upheld the principle that the plaintiff bears the onus of establishing the cause of his accident. In circumstances where the plaintiff is unable to establish this cause on the basis of the evidence available, the defendant cannot be presumed liable for the incident simply by the mere fact that it occurred.
McCabes acted for the successful defendant in the matter of Macari v Snack Brands Foods Pty Ltd [2024] NSWSC 139 where the NSW Supreme Court recently held that the plaintiff was unable to establish the cause of his slip and fall down a staircase, and thereby could not establish what reasonable precautions the occupier should have taken to prevent the plaintiff from slipping on the stairs.
