Johann is recognised as a specialist corporate legal practitioner, advising on mergers and acquisitions, commercial arrangements and regulatory compliance, primarily within the insurance and financial services sector in Australia.

Johann's expertise and client experience include working with insurers, underwriters and insurance brokers in a dynamic regulatory environment, on their corporate and commercial dealings. Johann also advises on cross-border, private and listed transactions for clients in the energy and resources sectors, as well as foreign direct investments into emerging markets, having worked extensively in Africa and Southeast Asia.
