Sam Cooper

Sam is an Associate in the Brisbane Insurance Division of McCabes. Sam has experience in managing pre-ligated and litigated claims, acting for blue chip insurers and private clients in personal injury and property damage claims, and general commercial insurance matters.

Specifically, his most recent experience includes acting for national and overseas insurers in:

• First Party Claims, where there are elements of arson fraud;
• Claims involving occupational exposure to silica dust;
• Motor vehicle accident claims;
• Complex personal injury claims which involve the interaction between the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 (Qld), the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 (Qld), Civil Liability Act 2003 (Qld) and the application of various contractual indemnities between the parties.

Sam was admitted to practice in 2021 and has managed matters in the Queensland, New South Wales and Victorian jurisdiction. He is a committee member of the Australian Insurance Law Association and volunteers at a local community legal centre.
