Ana Kolovos

Ana has extensive litigation experience across all Australian jurisdictions including in Victorian tribunals and in the High Court. This experience arises across all aspects of public liability claims including defending claims brought under the Wrongs Act 1958 and compensation claims brought under the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 (Vic) (both work place injury claims and VWA recovery claims), product liability claims (including under the Australian Consumer Law) and property damage (arising in the context of fire, water (under the Water Act 1989) and other contaminants).

Many of the personal injury claims Ana usually defends include catastrophic injuries as well as dependency claims often containing liability, causation and quantum complexities. Ana's experience in product liability and property damage claims often include very large losses and the provision of complex coverage advice. In workplace injury claims her experience with the VWA (including early in her career acting for the VWA direct) allows a tailored and strategic approach to claims management and early claims finality.

The breadth of Ana's experience has developed over many years acting for a large range of global insurers, claims management organisations and large companies direct including in the sectors of hospitality, retail, building and manufacturing, importation and supply of goods, transportation and logistics and universities and other educational organisations.
